Psychological Testing
Psychological evaluation and testing can be valuable whether you are new to mental health treatment or have been in treatment and feeling stuck. At Prince William Family Counseling, we help patients in Manassas, VA, and the surrounding areas gain a better understanding of their conditions and find the best paths forward.
Psychological Evaluations
Our evaluations work to help individuals and their therapists gain an improved understanding of a patient’s everyday functioning abilities. This, in turn, is used to guide the ongoing treatment plan.
Psychological Testing
Our clinicians use a wide range of standardized tests to help us compile information regarding an individual’s emotional, social, and behavioral patterns. Also examined are cognitive skills, executive functioning abilities, and other factors that might be impacting your everyday functioning. If you have reached an impasse in your treatment and are unsure as to how to proceed, psychological testing can provide us with the insight needed to determine a course of action.
Our Process
First, you’ll be seen by one of our psychologists to discuss your concerns and review the testing process. Over the next sessions, testing will be conducted. Each session lasts approximately two hours, and the number of sessions depends on the types of tests administered. During testing, you can take breaks if you need to. If you choose to grant permission, your evaluator may speak to those closest to you, including family and treatment providers, to gain more information.
After your evaluation is completed, we will schedule a feedback session to discuss results, diagnostic information, and treatment recommendations. We will provide you with a detailed report of the findings to share with treatment providers, school, or work.
Our goal is to provide you with the information and tools you need to achieve results and improve your wellbeing. Call 703-330-9933 or contact us to get started.
